Dr. Stark enjoys his work and is proud of the quality endodontic
service he provides for his referring dentists and his patients.
He stays active and involved in the field of dentistry through
many volunteer and professional commitments.
Canadian Dental Association
Dr.
Stark has been a member of the
Canadian Dental Association's
Dental Aptitude Test (DAT) evaluation team since 1996. In this
capacity, Dr. Stark helps evaluate the manual dexterity
performance aspect of the DAT, which dental student candidates
for Canadian dental schools take at one of two annual sessions.
Dr. Stark helps in the evaluation and grading of upwards of
1,200 test pieces at each session.
University of Saskatchewan - College of Dentistry
Dr. Stark has taught at the
University
of Saskatchewan's College of Dentistry since his graduation in
1990.
He is currently Associate Clinical Professor, teaching Endodontics to senior students, as well as helping in other disciplines. He was named Professor of the Year in 2001.
Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM)
Dr. Stark has had a close affiliation with the Western College of Veterinary Medicine since 1990. Dr. Stark has taught one to two week seminars for senior veterinary students who have a special interest in Veterinary Dentistry.
Dr. Stark has also been called
upon to do root canal therapy for a number of our four-legged
friends, including a ferret, whose treatment was featured on the
successful
Campus
Vets television series.
Dr. Stark continues as an adjunct member of faculty at the WCVM.
Dave Stark
Away From The Office
To maintain personal fitness Dave took up running over 25 years ago. Dave has completed marathons in Vancouver, Minneapolis and Victoria and enjoys traveling to other cities to complete shorter distances. Dave is an active and avid supporter of Saskatoon's running community and is Vice-president (in charge of communications) of the Saskatoon Road Runners Association - the group responsible for organizing many of Saskatoon's running events, including the Saskatchewan Marathon.
Dave and his three standard poodles have fun in various activities: obedience, rally-O and agility. Currently, Dave and Kennedy (pictured below) are working hard in agility. Kennedy is doing well and is being patient as he guides Dave through his paces!
Saskatchewan has some of the finest and most unique golf courses in the world. Dave feels fortunate to be a member at one of Saskatchewan's best and most beautiful courses: Riverside Country Club, since the late 60's (as a junior member).
