Specialists trained in the practice of endodontics have acquired special skills in diagnosis and treatment techniques. Improvements in anesthesia, instrumentation, x-ray technology (now rapid and very low-dose radiation digital), illumination, magnification and visibility, as well as sedation techniques (when rarely required), have made for quick, painless and highly successful root canal treatment.
